Changing Your Child’s Destination After School

There are times when parents need their child to go somewhere other than the usual place after school. When this occurs, please contact the school or the teacher’s voice mail as soon as possible but no later than 2:30. Your child’s teacher’s phone extension is included in this handbook. The end of the school day gets very busy with many phone calls and people coming in, and we cannot guarantee notices received during the last half-hour of the day. If there is an emergency that requires you to call after 2:30, please speak directly to the school secretary at extension 3205.

Sending Children Home by Taxi Cab

Parents may request to have their child sent home by cab. The parent will notify the school as to which cab company is preferred. The parent will be called when the cab departs. The parent is responsible for meeting the cab and paying the fare.

Bicycles

Students who ride bikes to school should have parent permission. The streets near school have a lot of traffic, and parents must assume responsibility for their child’s safety. Gladys Jung students who do ride bikes must do the following:

  1. Follow laws and safety rules for riding bikes.
  2. Equip bikes and riders with reflective devices.
  3. Park bikes in the bike rack in front of the school. Bikes parked elsewhere will be confiscated.
  4. Bikers will not use the school access road due to visibility issues.
