GJE Eligibility Reminder
Good afternoon, families of GJE,
As we prepare to start our second quarter of the school year, we’d like to take a moment to review GJE’s eligibility policy (attached and posted on GJE’s website).
Our school’s eligibility policy pertains to robotics, student council, wrestling, basketball, cross country, and other student activities. The policy outlines the criteria to determine whether a student is considered eligible or ineligible for the two-week period.
If a student is marked ineligible for the week, they may achieve eligibility status the following week if they address the factor that caused them to be ineligible.
Signed eligibility forms are due no later than Wednesday mornings at 9am to Mr. Russ’s mailbox; we will also accept these via email from parents (by 9am on Wednesdays) if students forget their forms at home. The reason for this deadline is to give coaches time to create and submit rosters for tournaments at the end of the week. If the team is planning to travel, we need time to process required travel paperwork and communicate passenger information to the airline.
As a reminder, GJE requires students to maintain an average of 65% or higher in all courses. For students participating in wrestling, students need a minimum of ten (10) practices in order to compete in tournaments, in addition to being considered eligible as per the policy.
We encourage you to discuss this policy with your student to confirm understanding. If you or your child has any questions, please contact the school.
Kind regards,
GJE Administration
