Battle of the Books — Grades 3–6- Registration

Do you love books? Students in grades 3–6 are invited to join Battle of the Books!

Applications
Students may begin registering on Monday, September 21, 2026, in the assistant principal’s office.

Practices
Practices begin Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. Practices will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00–8:00 a.m. in the GJE Library.

Mandatory Parent Meeting
A 10-minute mandatory parent meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 6, at 7:00 a.m.

Team Selection
Team selection will be based on:

• Attendance at 80% of practices
• Completion of the selected books
• Citizenship, based on eligibility forms

🎧 Audiobooks will be available for most Battle of the Books titles, giving students different ways to read, listen, and prepare for the competition.

🏆 District Battle: February 1, 2027
Students who advance will have the opportunity to compete in the State Battle:

• Grades 5–6: February 24, 2027
• Grades 3–4: February 25, 2027
