The first quarter has come to an end. Teachers are grading final assignments and entering grades. This quarter has been very difficult for all of us as we attempt to navigate School through a Pandemic. In recognition of this, grades will look a bit different on your child's report cards.
Students at Gladys Jung Elementary School will see the following grades on their report card.
A- Excellent
B- Good
C- Average
NB- No Basis
The major change is that you may now see an NB on report cards. NB stands for No Basis. For many of us, there have been multiple factors that have got in the way of students being able to turn in the school work that is being sent home. This does not mean learning is not happening. NB tells you as a parent that your child's teacher does not have enough evidence to determine if your child has met the state standard.
Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC) are more important than ever this year. I am encouraging you to attend these conferences with your child. PTC will be the week of November 2nd. They will be done via Zoom, Phone, or another platform that bests fits your situation. Your child's teacher will be contacting you soon to schedule these.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me.
