Science Fair

This years LKSD 2018 Science Fair was the largest science fair in many, many years, with 11 sites bringing more than 80 students.  There were high quality projects; congratulations to all the students who participated.
The winners in each category were.....
Elementary:
1st: Shawn McIntyre - GJE - Brain Trollers
2nd: Justine Erickson-Bradney - Platinum - Crystal Wonders
3rd: Adrian Steve & Aaliyah Wasuli - GJE - Slime Bounce
Middle School:
1st: Kayla Beckham, Hailey Sundown & Jordan Wheeler - BRHS  - The Effect of Tundra Tussocks on Soil Moisture
2nd: Everett Martin - Toksook Bay - How Rain on Snow Events Impact Muskoxen
3rd: Mary Simeon - BRHS - Juvenile Coho Salmon Years in Fresh Water
High School:
1st: Emily Martin, Wilson Agimuk & Nicole Agimuk- Toksook Bay - How do Changes in Temperature and PH Levels Effect Enzyme Activity?
2nd: Nelson John & Iris Paul - Kipnuk   - Optical Illusion
3rd: Chase Martin & Emira Aliralria - Kipnuk  - Does Temperature Affect the Reaction of Mentos and Diet Coke
LKSD will be represented at the Alaska State Science Fair by the following students.

A quality science fair project is not easy and each student who prepared one worked very hard. Great job, LKSD students!
